Is it a stepping stone to the Primal Lifestyle?
A gluten-free diet is only one part of a healthy lifestyle. The Primal Lifestyle is a holistic approach to health. This means thinking about health as a big picture, addressing the whole body including physical, emotional, and mental health. It also takes social factors into consideration.
With that being said, when making lifestyle changes, trying to change all of these areas at once can be overwhelming and leads many to give up on all of it.
As a health coach , I take my clients through this transition at a slower pace, step-by-step.
The answer to the question - Is a gluten-free diet a stepping stone to the Primal Lifestyle?- is yes, it definitely can be.
Although you can be gluten-free without being Primal, I have found greater success mastering the gluten-free diet first before becoming fully Primal. Learning exactly where gluten is found and eliminating the highly inflammatory foods, can help you feel better in a short amount of time. Success in feeling better encourages further growth and change.
Some people are motivated to go straight into Primal eating and others need to focus on consistent smaller changes. In either case, the first step and a key factor, is to eliminate gluten containing foods.
